2018 Pickup Trucks – What to Expect in the Year Ahead

Jeep Wrangler Pickup

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler Pickup will have a larger wheel base than its line of Wrangle SUVs. Powered by a 3.6 liter V-6, the Wrangler pickup is predicted to have around 300 hp and 270 lbs of torque.

Mercedes X-Class

The Mercedes X-Class is being touted as the world’s first premium pickup truck with its initial target market being in the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America.

This high-end luxury model will feature an all leather steering wheel, ample head and leg room in the cabin for all passengers, climate control, entertainment system and touchscreen LCD display.

Buyers would have the option of both four and six cylinder engines capable of delivering 208 hp and 258 lbs of torque.

Hyundai Santa Cruz

This compact truck is ideal for smaller jobs, city life, and weekend road trips. The interior of the cab has been updated to allow for more legroom and security, and entertainment features have both been upgraded since earlier models.

There are two engine options to choose from including a 2.4 liter inline which delivers 190 hp and 184 lbs of torque and a 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder that provides 270 hp with 270 lbs of torque.

RAM 38500HD

RAM’s biggest full body pickup truck easily seats four people and features a large 8.4 inch LCD touchscreen display connected to a camera to view for reversing as well as to view cargo for added security.

With an astounding towing capacity of 31,000 lbs, this truck is available with either 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter engines.

Toyota Hilux

For those looking for a budget model compact pickup truck, the 2018 Toyota Hilux may just fit the bill. This truck comes with enhanced safety features and a futuristic design. Three engine choices will be available including a 2.8-liter engine with 177 hp and 334 lbs of torque; a 2.4 liter with 163 hp and 298 lbs of torque and a 4.0 liter V6 capable of generating 278 hp.
